For first-time visitors
Reservations
Please make reservations to be seen without waiting. I also treat walk-in patients, but they may have to wait for some time to be seen.
At Hilo Acupuncture and Acupressure Clinic, I personally see all patients. Your understanding is appreciated.
Patient clothes
Patient clothes are available. You don’t have to bring any.
Acupuncture and moxibustion treatments
For female patients, we have special patient clothes (shirts and pants). Patients do not have to take off their underwear.
Male patients usually receive treatment wearing their underwear. If they request, however, we have shorts for male patients.
Massage, acupressure and manipulative treatments
If your clothes restrict movement, or if you prefer, we have appropriate clothes for you, both shirts and pants. Of course, you can bring your own clothes too.
Treatment time
Acupuncture and moxibustion treatments
First time visitors are required to go through the interview and examinations, and the first visit tends to take time. Please allow approximately two hours for your first visit.
If keeping the same posture without, or with little, movement for a long time is painful or uncomfortable, please let me know.
Acupuncture and moxibustion treatments for autonomic imbalance tend to take time. I will adjust the treatment time depending on the patient’s condition.
Massage, acupressure and manipulative treatments
I offer 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions. For treatment time other than these, please inquire.
The first visit tends to take time due to the interview and examinations, although not as long as the first visit for acupuncture or moxibustion treatment. Please allow sufficient time for your first visit.
